a somehow life-related sad song

during the holidays, parents and i were goin to Marina Square to watch the movie "the day the earth stood still". we were in the car and my dad played an old disk. then i came a cross tis song which i find the lyrics somehow stuck me cus im sometimes rebelious to my parents. too me, the lyrics was somehow true and i feel bad inside. i noe most teens are rebelious to their parents at some times, but most of the time its jus for our own good (i noe, i may sound like your parents now, but think hard bout it.) i also found out after looking for tis song tat its from Philipines, the year 1977... wats more intresting tat the song was inspired from the writer's true life story. it oso have hundreds of language versions (from tagalog to english to chinese to malay etc.). i have provided the song, lyrics(in english), its source of inspiration and its story.

Anak(Son) English Verision - Freddie Aguilar
*(<---)this song is currently being auto played on the gadgets bar

Child by Freddie Aguilar
"When you were born into this world
Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled
Dream come true
The answer to their prayers

You were to them a special child
Gave 'em joy every time you smiled
Each time you cried
They're at your side to care

Child, you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here

How many seasons came and went
So many years have now been spent
For time ran fast
And now at last you're strong

Now what has gotten over you
You seem to hate your parents too
Do speak out your mind
Why do you find them wrong

Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you near

And now your path has gone astray
Child you ain't sure what to do or say
You're so alone
No friends are on your side

And child you now break down in tears
Let them drive away your fears
Where must you go
Their arms stay open wide

Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through
And God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here

Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here"

Inspiration
Freddie Aguilar left family and school unfinished at the age of 18. His father, who had wanted him to be a lawyer, was disappointed. Freddie travelled to far-away places carrying with him, solely, his guitar. With no one to guide and discipline him, he got into gambling. Realizing and regretting his mistakes five years later, Freddie composed Anak, a remorse song expressing apology to his parents. He went back home and asked for forgiveness from his parents who welcomed him with open arms. After his father read the lyrics of Anak, the two became closer to each other. The homecoming proved timely as soon after, his father would pass away. (from wiki)

Story
The story is really about that your parents pray and then once, your mom was already pregnant. Your mom and dad had smiles on their faces, then when you are already a teenager, you wanted to be free. You disobey them then you use drugs, then finally you realized what you've done. You finally changed your misdeed. One day he found love, and they've decided to to marry and have a child. When his first child was born, he felt the same way as his parent felt during his birth. Then, he realizes that his parents are right. It is not a joke to be a parent. (from wiki)
